Sean West was rocked for five earned runs on eight hits over a mere 4.1 innings in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Nationals. He had three walks and two strikeouts. The game was called after seven innings due to rain.
Our View: West had a terrible outing against one of the worst teams in the majors, and is lucky he ends the night with a no-decision rather than a win. West has given up five earned runs in two of his last three starts, and the rookie should remain an unstable fantasy option.

Sean West took a no-decision on Tuesday after the Nationals roughed him up for five earned runs on eight hits and three walks with two strikeouts over 4 1/3 rocky innings.
Analysis: It was a tough night for the just-turned 23-year-old hurler who pitched six innings of shutout ball his last time out against the Orioles, despite a poor 3/2 K/BB ratio, which he duplicated Tuesday night. West is next scheduled to hurl against the Giants -- whom he threw eight shutout innings of six-strikeout ball against earlier this year -- on July 6, making him an appealing spot start option.
