Durham is hitting .318 with a .843 OPS against righties, while Weeks is at .201 and .648 in those situations.

Manager Ned Yost defended Rickie Weeks as his starting second baseman following the acquisition of Ray Durham from the Giants, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Yost said, "Rickie's doing fine. I'll play Ray a couple of days a week, maybe. We'll just see how it goes. I'm not setting anything in stone. We'll take it day by day. Veteran, quality depth is what it gives us."Weeks has been struggling with a .216 average, but Yost insists that Durham was added namely for depth and a solid bat off the bench, rather than a replacement for Weeks. So while Weeks will likely play less every week with starts given to Durham, the vet isn't a threat to replace Weeks as the regular starter at second.
