Paul Maholm had a fine showing against Houston on Sunday despite getting tagged with the loss, giving up one earned run (two total) off eight hits, two walks and four strikeouts in seven innings.
Our View: Maholm has been mostly effective this season and is a fine middle-to-backend NL-only starter. Still, with his inability to strike out opposing batters, he tends to get hit hard when he's not at the top of his game, meaning he could continue to be a borderline mixed league starter throughout the season.
