Cain, the only Giant to last at least six innings in each start, has compiled a 1.57 ERA in his last five outings; his season mark of 2.31 is second in the NL to Wandy Rodriguez's 1.71. Cain has also thrived with runners in scoring position, limiting opponents to a .100 average (4-for-40) in those situations. By all means, start the hard-throwing righty on June 4 when he matches up with the scuffling Nationals.

Matt Cain was very good on Friday night against the Cardinals. He allowed just one earned run on six hits and two walks over 6.1 innings and improved to 6-1 on the season as the Giants' doubled up St. Louis 4-2.
Our View: Cain took advantage of a slumping Cardinal lineup and his bullpen held on for the win. His ERA now sits at 2.31 and while he hasn't struck out many hitters this season (46) he still remains one of the better options as far as fantasy starters go.
