Mark Buehrle gave up an earned run on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings vs. the Cubs in a no-decision on Saturday.

Analysis: It's the second straight solid effort from Buehrle, who blanked the Reds last time out. It seems he's overcome his struggles earlier in June, when he posted a 5.75 ERA in three starts covering 20 1/3 innings. Consider him an excellent starting option July 2 when he faces the punchless Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

Mark Buehrle dominated the Reds on Sunday afternoon, tossing seven shutout innings and earning his seventh victory. Cincinnati could only muster five hits and a walk against him as the White Sox took the series with a 4-1 win.

Our View: Buehrle has been very good this season and has been rewarded with a 7-2 record. He won't get you a lot of Ks, but his record and 3.17 ERA speak for themselves.

An important outing for Buehrle, who had given up five homers and 13 earned runs over his last three starts. He picked up his first win since May 19 and lowered his ERA to a rock-solid 3.17. While his 5.57 K/9 ratio isn�t spectacular, Buehrle is as steady as they come, having worked more than six innings in all but four of his starts this year. Owners can expect more of the same when he gets the call next on June 27 vs. the Cubs.

After allowing seven walks in 14 1/3 innings coming into Sunday's game, it was good to see that the lefty had his usual strong command back.
