Ramirez has now reached base in each of his last seven plate appearances and has multi-hit performances in four of his last five games. Going into the season, it seemed unreasonable to expect Ramirez to match the .396 average and .489 OBP he put up during his 53-game Dodgers stint in 2008. But 20 games into 2009, Manny's at .366 and .494, and looking like a potential MVP candidate again.

Andre Ethier doubled him in with the go-ahead run in the ninth inning and the Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 5-3 on Tuesday night, avoiding their longest losing streak of the season. Our View: Ramirez has yet to hit his first home run, but he already has 11 walks on the season. Opposing pitchers clearly recall the damage he produced last season in a Dodgers uniform and the slugger has not seen much to work with to this point in the season. He is hitting .304 through eight games.

Our View: The Indians currently have little use for Manny as their outfield is both young and talented, and they have plenty of options at DH. Either way, expect Cleveland to come up as a possible destination for the slugger the next time he enters free agency. He spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the Indians.
