This season will be full of first for Youkilis, who is hitting .315 with 97 RBIs. He has never hit over .300 or reached 100 RBIs in a season.

News: First baseman Kevin Youkilis was back in Boston's lineup against the Texas Rangers on Saturday night, rejoining the Red Sox earlier in the day after missing the series opener to attend to a family matter. Youkilis was in the lineup for only the second time in seven games. He missed two games with the flu and two others with back spasms. The extra day at home allowed him to get treatment on his back in Boston. "Maybe missing (Friday) ends up being good for his back," manager Terry Francona said. Youkilis has been on a tear to start the season but will surly come back down to earth once he returnes from the injury. Reports state, Tues. but the Sox have suggested they may want to keep him out another week just to be sure, "no need to rush anyone right now" said Francona. "The season is a marathon, not a sprint".
