Instead, he was able to focus on dialing up his high-octane heater and recording outs, which he did in spades, going at least seven innings for the fourth consecutive start. Our View: Verlander had it going again today, and he was said to be hitting 100 MPH in the ninth inning. When he is on, he is nearly untouchable, and that's what happened today. Obviously, Verlander is the cream of the crop when it comes to fantasy pitching, and he will usually have more than four strikeouts in a game like this.

But that outing took place at the cavernous Comerica Park. Saturday's brilliant performance was made all the moreso by virtue of it taking place in the launching pad known as Yankees Stadium. The hard-throwing righty was dominant all afternoon and pounded the strike zone with vigor (72 of his 109 pitches went for strikes).
