Outman beginning rehab on elbow

According to MLB.com, A's starter Josh Outman is ready to begin rehabbing after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his left elbow a few weeks ago. Outman is not expected to be ready to return to the team until after the 2010 All-Star break.
Our View: The rehab process after Tommy John is long and tedious, but Outman should be ready to go in the second half next season. Obviously, he has no fantasy value for this year, but he could be a nice second half addition next season.

Status: D.L.. Out for the season
Josh Outman, who underwent Tommy John surgery in late June, began a throwing program last week in St. Louis. Tommy John recovery times for vary for pitchers, but usually range from 12-18 months. He's on the right track and hopes to be ready for big league action shortly after the All-Star break next season. Outman was 4-1 with a 3.48 ERA in 12 starts this year before injuring his left elbow.
