According to a report on AOL Fanhouse, Rangers' slugger Josh Hamilton is seeking a second opinion on his abdominal strain. Hamilton believes that if he does need surgery, he will only miss 4-5 weeks.

Our View: Hamilton would prefer not to have the surgery, but he wants to hear what another doctor thinks. It is still unclear as to how long he will be out, but this decision will probably decide it. Owners should find someone to take Hamilton's spot in the lineup as a long term replacement, but expect him back at some point in the next 6-8 weeks.
