Paul White, of USA TODAY, reports the Detroit Tigers could be interested in free-agent CL Jose Valverde (Astros).
Astros | Would like to re-sign several players
Brian McTaggart, of MLB.com, reports the Houston Astros would like to re-sign SS Miguel Tejada, RP Jose Valverde and RP LaTroy Hawkins, but are unlikely to have the money to re-sign all three. Tejada's future with the team would be a third base.

MLB.com is reporting that there is a mutual interest in closer Jose Valverde returning to Houston next season. Valverde would be open to returning, but he also plans to test the free agent waters before making a decision.
Our View: Valverde seems genuinely excited by the prospect of free agency, but he enjoyed his time with the Astros as well. He still has plenty left in the tank, so he should be a solid fantasy closer in 2010 regardless of where he ends up.
