News: The Providence Journal reports that John Smoltz continues his rehab under the watchful eyes of the Red Sox training staff. Smoltz has said he feels very good and he's ready to do more. "We knew throwing a rein around him is something we would have to do sometimes," said Red Sox manager Terry Francona. "Every time you turn your back he goes from [playing catch] from 100 to 130 feet. That's just the way he's built. We actually respect it, and we really like it, but we knew we would have to do this. He's on board, but he feels good and wants to keep going. We'll keep him in line. He's here early every day and he works hard. He's doing fine." [...]

Joe McDonald, of The Providence Journal, reports Boston Red Sox SP John Smoltz (shoulder) continues to rehab with trainer Mike Reinold and is feeling great. Smoltz said he is itching to do more activities, but the team is holding him back.
