Nationals | Lannan earns fifth win Sunday
The Associated Press reports Washington Nationals SP John Lannan improved to 5-5 on the season Sunday, June 28, after he allowed three earned runs over 7 1/3 innings against the Baltimore Orioles. Lannan struck out two and walked three while allowing six hits in the game. Lannan went 3-0 with a 2.19 ERA in June. It was the first time in his career he won three games in one month. He has yielded three earned runs or fewer in 12 of his last 13 starts.

John Lannan evened his record at 5-5 on Sunday as the Nationals beat the Orioles 5-3. Lannan went 7.1 innings and allowed three runs on six hits while walking three and striking out two.
Our View: Lannan has been very good in the month of June, but his fantasy value is still mediocre. He doesn't strike many hitters out, but he usually pitches well enough to give his team a chance to win. Unfortunately, he will lose many of those games since he pitches for the Nats.

John Lannan evened his record at 5-5 after limiting the Orioles to three earned runs on six hits and three walks with two strikeouts over 7 1/3 frames on Sunday.
Analysis: Lannan has had his good stuff working for awhile now, posting five straight quality starts while lowering his ERA to a season's best 3.45 mark for a Nationals team that is 29 games under .500 (22-51). Although wins are sometimes hard to come by and he doesn't have the overpowering stuff of a front-line strikeout machine, Lannan could be a servicable option for those looking for help with ERA. The veteran lefty is will next take the rock on July 4 against the Braves.
