Bruce has a four-game hit streak, although he�s frustrated fantasy owners with his inconsistency. He did put together a nice 13-game hit streak ending in early August, but he's hitting just .178 since then. Still, he's a five-tool talent and he must be valued highly as a keeper option for 2009.

Bruce has now gone yard thrice in his last four games to give him 10 jacks on the year. Though he was placed in the seven-hole on Monday, manager Dusty Baker announced before the game that Bruce will see most of his at-bats out of the three-spot against right-handed pitchers, giving a significant boost to the the surging rookie's value.
