The Associated Press reports Colorado Rockies SP Jason Marquis allowed two runs on six hits in six innings in his no-decision against the Milwaukee Brewers Tuesday, Sept. 29. He was in line for his 16th win, but the bullpen blew the save. Marquis said after the game that he found his release point after struggling in previous starts.

Our View: Marquis notched just his second quality start this month and is in danger of being left off the Rockies postseason roster. He's struggled mightily since the All Star break.

A crucial outing for Marquis, who entered Tuesday having been roughed up to the tune of 14 earned runs over his last three starts, spanning 16 1/3 innings. While he did hand out at least four free passes for the fourth consecutive outing, he made pitches when he had to, which would have helped him earn his second win since Aug. 19 had closer Huston Street not blown the save in the ninth. The All-Star righty will look to carry the momentum into his final start on Oct. 4 in Chavez Ravine vs. a Dodgers club he’s dominated this season.
