Colorado Rockies SP Jason Marquis allowed five runs on nine hits over six innings Saturday, Aug. 29, against the San Francisco Giants, according to The Associated Press. He walked one and struck out two, falling to 14-9 on the season. It was the first time Marquis had allowed five or more runs in a National League stadium other than Coors Field since Monday, April 20, when he gave up six runs at Arizona's Chase Field.

Marquis broke his streak of three quality starts by succumbing to the Giants, a team against which he gave up one earned run on Aug. 24. Pablo Sandoval caused him fits, but the rest of the Giants order was just 6-for-24 (.214) vs. Marquis. He'll face a batting order more adept at the long ball on Sept. 4 when he takes the hill vs. the D-backs in Colorado.
