Jason Marquis was brilliant on Friday. He tossed eight shutout innings in Coors Field and allowed six hits and four walks while striking out six. He earned the win and improved to 7-3 as the Rockies blanked the Padres 3-0.
Our View: Marquis has been one of the biggest surprises this season. He owns a 3.93 ERA, a 7-3 record and seven quality starts. When he's been bad this season, hes been very bad, but when he's been on, he's been very good. Who would have thought with him heading to Coors field. Looks like that sinker is working for him.
