The Dallas Morning News reports that the Rangers have purchased the contract of right-hander Pedro Strop.
Our View: Strop held a 5.06 ERA over 64 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season, and seems an odd choice for a late season call-up. Jason Jennings was DFAed to clear space on the roster.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the Rangers have designated right-hander Jason Jennings for assignment.
Our View: The mover clears a roster spot for righty Pedro Strop. Jennings, who landed a bullpen spot out of spring training, held a 4.13 ERA and 1.56 WHIP. Looks like the Rangers didn't want to risk pitching him during their playoff push.
