Bill Chastain, of MLB.com, reports Tampa Bay Rays SP Jason Hammel could win a spot in the starting rotation to begin the 2009 season. However, there is the possibility that the team could look to trade him as well. Hammel has indicated that his preference is to be a starting pitcher, as opposed to pitching out of the bullpen.
