Jarrod Washburn doesn't expect to receive a contract offer from the Tigers. "The Tigers have not given me any indication that they would like me back," said Washburn. "I haven't heard from them other than to talk about my knee, so I would be surprised if they offer me a contract." And why should they? Though his left knee was probably a factor, Washburn was a disaster after leaving Safeco Field, posting a 7.33 ERA in eight starts with the Tigers, allowing 12 home runs in 43 innings. He allowed just 11 dingers in 133 innings with the Mariners. Despite the poor finish, the 34-year-old southpaw should interest plenty of clubs this winter.
