News: From the The Sports Xchange: LHP Jack Taschner had good career numbers against most of the Atlanta Braves' hitters. But if LHP J.C. Romero wasn't serving a 50-game suspension for violating MLB's drug policy, Taschner likely wouldn't have been pitching in the seventh inning Sunday when the Phillies fumbled the lead in a 4-2 loss. "That would've been J.C.'s role if he was here, definitely, without a doubt," manager Charlie Manuel said. "That's how we did it last year. That's what got us through to (closer Brad) Lidge. J.C. would even pitch the eighth sometimes and (setup man Ryan) Madson would throw the seventh, depending on how the lineup went." Taschner has been filling in for Romero, who won't be eligible to pitch until early June. He allowed soft singles by Yunel Escobar and Garret Anderson and issued a two-out walk to Brian McCann before giving up a two-out, two-run single up the middle by Casey Kotchman. [...]
