Philadelphia Phillies RP J.C. Romero earned the victory in Game 3 of the World Series Saturday, Oct. 25, against the Tampa Bay Rays, according to The Associated Press. In 1 1/3 perfect innings of work, he struck out one batter.

J.C. Romero (elbow surgery) said Saturday that he intends to be at full strength for the start of spring training next season. "My goal is to be ready to go when spring training starts," said the lefty, "although I may go a little slower because I don't want to get ahead of myself." It's a tough proposition. Romero underwent elbow surgery just one week ago and was given a recovery time of five-to-six months. Factor in a few setbacks, and it seems doubtful he'll be able to reach his goal.
