Kuo underwent tests after experiencing a "weird" feeling in his fingers while warming up during Saturday's game. He will go through further testing in the next week to confirm the circulatory problem and ensure nothing else is wrong. If everything checks out fine, Kuo will resume a pitching routine in an Arizona instructional league.

Kuo, the Dodgers' top middle reliever with 96 strikeouts in 80 innings, warmed up in the bullpen to pitch in relief Saturday night at San Francisco but said he couldn't feel his fingers and didn't enter the game. Los Angeles Dodgers RP Hong-Chih Kuo (elbow) will not pitch in the National League Division Series as a precautionary measure, because of a possible condition with his circulation, according to The Associated Press. He attempted to warm up in the bullpen Saturday, Sept. 27, but said he couldn't feel his fingers and didn't enter the game. Kuo then threw for 15 minutes in the indoor cage and continued to experience problems with his numbness, and his skin became red. Following the game, athletic trainer Stan Conte took Kuo to a local hospital, where it was determined that his blood was flowing normally. Kuo will undergo more tests in the coming days to determine if he has a blood clot, then head to the instructional league in Arizona to determine if he would be available to pitch if the Dodgers advance to the NL championship series.
