News: Giants OF Fred Lewis loves hitting at Coors Field as he did on Friday night against the Rockies. Lewis increased his career batting average at Coors to .365 with a 3 for 3 night, finishing a homer shy of the cycle. The left-handed hitting Lewis singled in the first, doubled in the fourth and tripled in the sixth. In his final at-bat in the eighth, he was walked on five pitches by southpaw Franklin Morales. "His playing time picked up and he's taking advantage of it," Bochy said. "He had a good game out there." Lewis is now batting .253 on the year. [...]

Fred Lewis went 3-for-3 with two runs scored in tonight's 3-1 win at Colorado. He hit a single, double and a triple.

Our View: Lewis was in need of a solid performance, as he was hitting .167 over 24 at-bats this month heading into tonight's game. He is only an option for deeper fantasy leagues.

Lewis has had to fight for time in what has become a crowded Giants outfield since the arrival of Nate Schierholtz, but with Aaron Rowand sidelined with a bruised arm, the speedy 28-year-old should seen an uptick in playing time for now. Lewis is hitting .253 with 40 runs scored and seven steals on the year.
