The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that left-hander Francisco Liriano is pitching in the Dominican Winter League and has a 1.00 ERA through three starts. He is building his pitch count up in preparation for the World Baseball Classic.Let's hope that he avoids further injuring his arm which was surgically repaired a little more than a year ago. When Liriano is on, he is absolutely filthy.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune's Joe Christensen reports Minnesota Twins SP Francisco Liriano made his third start in the Dominican Winter League Tuesday, Dec. 16, and allowed four hits in 4 2/3 shutout innings. He's 0-1 with a 1.00 ERA. General manager Bill Smith said Liriano is building his pitch count gradually, just like pitchers do in Spring Training, and won't throw more than 75 pitches in any outing. Liriano will pitch in the World Baseball Classic for the Dominican Republic.
