Twins | Liriano to remain in rotation

Source (kffl.com) (SP - min) | 0 comments.

Despite his struggles, Minnesota Twins SP Francisco Liriano (2-7, 6.60 ERA) will remain in the starting rotation, although his status may be reviewed after a few more starts, according to The Associated Press. "I'm definitely not ready to send Frankie to the minor leagues and I'm not ready to send him to the bullpen right now," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "We'll just see how it all goes. I'd love to see Frankie just get going in the rotation."

While Twins manager Ron Gardenhire says he has no immediate

Source (rotowire.com) (SP - min) | 0 comments.

While Twins manager Ron Gardenhire says he has no immediate plans to move Liriano to the bullpen or minors, he left the door open for those possibilities once Glen Perkins returns from an elbow injury. "When [Perkins] comes back, you see where you're at and what's going to make your ballclub better and help Frankie, too," Gardenhire told the team's official web site. "Right now, we just want to see him get through ballgames without that big inning and see what happens." [...]

After another bad start on Saturday, Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said that Liriano would remain in the rotation, the Associated Press reports. "I'm definitely not ready to send Frankie to the minor leagues and I'm not ready to send him to the bullpen right now," Gardenhire said before Sunday's game with the Rays. "We'll just see how it all goes. I'd love to see Frankie just get going in the rotation." [...]

Liriano's spot safe in rotation

Source (fanball.com) (SP - min) | 0 comments.

The Miami Herald is reporting that Francisco Liriano is not in danger of losing his spot in the rotation at this time. He may be reevaluated if he struggles in his next few starts, but he is safe right now.

Our View: Liriano has been bad this season, and anyone holding on hope that he could be a good pitcher this season needs to give it up. He will likely get moved from the rotation at some point, but the Twins are giving him a few more chances.

Twins left-hander Francisco Liriano will remain in the rotation,

Source (CBSSports.com) (SP - min) | 0 comments.

News: Twins left-hander Francisco Liriano will remain in the rotation, although his status might be reviewed after a couple more starts. Liriano (2-7) lasted only four innings for the third straight start in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Tampa Bay. "I'm definitely not ready to send Frankie to the minor leagues and I'm not ready to send him to the bullpen right now," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said before Sunday's game with the Rays. "We'll just see how it all goes. I'd love to see Frankie just get going in the rotation." Liriano, after Saturday's start, said he doesn't always know what pitch to throw with men on base. Gardenhire said that can be resolved if Liriano would depend on his catchers. "You've got to trust the catcher," Gardenhire said. "Let the catcher put down a signal and go with it. Let's see what happens. When you got a catcher like Joe Mauer that knows what's going on, you trust him. If it's not going well for you, just trust him." [...]
