Stults performed impressively in six big league starts, going 2-2 with 3.18 ERA. Manager Joe Torre expressed that the decision was affected by Stults' poor performance Monday against the Rockies, when he allowed three earned runs on six hits and three walks over just 3 2/3 frames. "After what we saw last night, he needs to go back and find his aggressiveness," Torre said. "He's just very tentative. It's not the way he came up here.

According to the Sports Ticker, Eric Stults was sent to Triple-A after allowing six hits, three walks, and three runs in 3.2 innings on Monday night.Aside from Monday's start, Stults was very good over six starts with the Dodgers. His ERA for the year is just 3.18.

Stults more than likely would've been given a longer leash in
Stults more than likely would've been given a longer leash in this one, but the Dodgers were already well in control of what turned out to be a 16-10 slugfest. Still, the young lefty's run into a bit of trouble recently, as he's failed to finish five innings in two of his last three outings. He'll look to turn things around in his next start, July 27 at home against an iffy Nationals lineup.
