According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Daric Barton has been optioned to Triple-A.
Our View: Barton was moved to make room for Mark Ellis, and the club wants the young hitter to have a chance to play every day. He'll likely get another call later in the season.

The A’s reinstated second baseman Mark Ellis from the 60-day disabled list Sunday.
Analysis: Barton was optioned to make room for Mark Ellis, who returned from a calf injury Sunday. Barton was recalled from Sacramento on June 8 and went 2 for 17 (.118) with two doubles in 12 games with the A’s. He made four starts at first base and was 0-for-2 as a pinch hitter.
