Yikes. Braden can't fault his teammates for trying today, as the young southpaw twice squandered leads, including an early 2-0 margin to start his half of the first. His seven runs allowed and six walks were both season highs. After a fine June (2.51 ERA, 21/7 K/BB ratio), Braden has been knocked around the yard in July (5.28 ERA, 16/14 K/BB ratio) and has seen his ERA rise to a half a run during that stretch. The 25-year-old lefty will play host to the Blue Jays his next time out on July 31.

Dallas Braden was not sharp at Yankee Stadium on Sunday. The 25-year-old righty walked six batters and surrendered ten hits, good for seven earned runs, in just five innings of work, as the Yankees beat the A's 7-5.

Our View: Amazingly, he gave up no home runs, a very tough thing to do in Yankee Stadium. After a pretty good start to the season, Braden has allowed 15 runs in his last three starts, and looks to be coming down to Earth. He's also likely to receive even less run support now that the A's top slugger, Matt Holliday, has departed.

Braden has been a revelation for both the A�s and fantasy owners this season. Largely available in mixed-leagues through the season�s first two months, the left-hander has now held opponents to two earned runs or less in eight consecutive starts. His peripherals in that span -- 6.3 K/9, 2.1 BB/9 -- are solid, but they don�t fully support a 2.10 ERA, so now could be the ideal time for owners to sell and maximize their return.

According to MLB.com, A's starter Dallas Braden isn't expected to return to the team until after the All-Star break while visiting his ailing grandmother. If he does return before the break, it is expected that he will rejoin the rotation immediately.

Our View: It seems unlikely that Braden with rush himself back to the team, and with an off-day on Thursday the A's rotation is set up nicely. Expect Braden to be ready to go coming out of the break, but for now he will have to stay on your bench.

Our View: Braden was supposed to start on Tuesday, so it is possible that Eveland may get the ball instead. Eveland struggled in his first stint with the team this season, and he should not be considered for fantasy duty as he will most likely only be around for a week or so.

Athletics transferred LHP Dallas Braden from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. Braden's left foot was "traumatized" by a rash in late August and he'll need the next few months for recovery. The 25-year-old southpaw finished the 2009 season with a 3.89 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 22 starts.
