The outing was hardly flawless, as Braden gave up four walks and five hits and labored for 111 pitches. Don't count on his ERA staying at or near 2.10 all season. His command still needs work (18/12 K/BB ratio), and he's not above a good shallacking every once in a while. Braden's next start comes at home against the Angels.

Athletics transferred LHP Dallas Braden from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. Braden's left foot was "traumatized" by a rash in late August and he'll need the next few months for recovery. The 25-year-old southpaw finished the 2009 season with a 3.89 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 22 starts.
