Craig Monroe drove in three runs and hit a home run for the first time this season in the Twins' 5-4 victory against the Athletics on Tuesday night. Monroe's three RBI were a season best. Along with his solo home run in the seventh, he had an RBI double in the fifth and singled in a run in the second on a cool Bay Area night that featured rain for much of the latter part of the game. Monroe is 10-for-14 (.714) lifetime against A's pitcher Joe Blanton. "I have no clue," Blanton said of Monroe's numbers against him. "I know they're better now." [...]
