Unfortunately he didn’t get much run support, which contributed to his winless streak being extended to eight starts. Since cruising into the All-Star break as one of the premier hurlers in the NL, the young righty endured a rough second half, going 3-7 with a 5.20 ERA in 13 outings. With no more scheduled starts until the playoffs, Billingsley will conclude the regular season with a 4.03 ERA and 179/86 K/BB ratio over 196 1/3 innings.

Our View: Billingsley had his first quality start since September 2nd, and while he fanned five and only allowed two runs, he walked five. He's given out 15 free passes this month and it has been revealed in his ERA which is over 5.00 for September.

MLB.com is reporting that Dodgers' pitcher Chad Billingsley is suffering from mechanical problems that are causing him to struggle. Billingsley is 0-4 with a 5.97 ERA since August 18.

Our View: Billingsley is getting too anxious on the mound, and he is rushing his delievery to the plate. It sounds like his mental make-up has been damaged as well, and he will need to get things fixed quickly if the Dodgers are going to compete in the playoffs.
