According to White Sox athletic trainer Herm Schneider, through a report delivered by a media relations representative, the X-rays of the fracture Quentin suffered on Sept. 1 looked great and Quentin was definitely making progress. The slugger underwent outpatient surgery on Sept. 8 to have a screw inserted into his fractured wrist. Quentin joined the team on Sept. 19 in Kansas City to continue undergoing range-of-motion and strengthening exercises. There's still no timetable set for Quentin's return.

Cabrera finished the night with four RBI giving him a total of 125.Cabrera has hit 20 of his 36 home runs in 58 second half games this season. Quentin said he has tried various methods of accelerating the healing to be ready "as soon as possible," such as taking several vitamins, using a bone stimulator and spending time in a hyperbaric chamber. Quentin's sore forearm shouldn't be viewed as the cause of the 26-year-old's recent mini-slump, Guillen said. In his last 10 games entering Tuesday, Quentin is batting .171. Instead, Guillen pointed to Quentin's 480 at-bats this season and the usual wear and the tear of the 162-game season. Couple that with Quentin's high pain tolerance, and it was all the more reason to be precautionary.
