1. CC Sabathia's past two outings have been ultra-valuable, not only because he won, but how he won. The Yankee offense is not whole and their set-up core is essentially a disaster. So in the past two games, Sabathia has pitched 17 out of possible 18 innings. He has removed the need for a set-up crew, throwing a complete game in Baltimore and eight innings in Toronto, handing the ball directly to Mariano Rivera. The Yankees scored a total of just seven runs in the two games, but Sabathia surrendered just two.

This is ace stuff, winning and chewing up huge innings. That is also good news because there had been worries about how Sabathia's arm would recover from such heavy abuse the past two years. But his stuff is holding up well deep into games.
