Phillies | Myers noticed mechanical flaw
Andy Martino, of The Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Phillies RP Brett Myers said he noticed a mechanical flaw while warming up to pitch in Game 2 of the NLDS. "My heel was pointing too much toward the plate, so I was flying open when I released the ball," Myers said. Myers has since corrected the issue and is ready to pitch in the World Series.

The Philadelphia Inquirer's Andy Martino reports Philadelphia Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee said RP Brett Myers looked much better in two simulated games and two bullpen sessions during the NLCS.

After meeting Friday with general manager Ruben Amaro Jr., free agent Brett Myers was told that the Phillies will not attempt to re-sign him. Myers spent eight seasons in Philadelphia, going 73-63 with a 4.40 ERA in 1,183 2/3 innings split between the rotation and bullpen. When healthy he's a qualify third or fourth starter and potential late-inning reliever, but injuries and off-field issues no doubt convinced the Phillies to move on.
