It appears that Myers' month-long trip to the farm did him a world of good, as he's surrendered three earned runs on seven hits over 12 innings for a 2.25 ERA in two starts since returning to the big league club. While it'd be premature to say he's fully out of the woods, but owners would be wise to consider the resurgent righty when he next gets the ball, Aug. 3 in St. Louis.

Brett Myers had arguably his best start of the season, throwing seven innings, allowing just four hits and no earned runs against Washington, earing his fourth victory of the season.It is important to note that Myers, who only struck out two hitters, did this against one of the worst offensive teams in baseball, so before jumping to acquire him on your fantasy team, let's see if he can put two solid starts together.

After meeting Friday with general manager Ruben Amaro Jr., free agent Brett Myers was told that the Phillies will not attempt to re-sign him. Myers spent eight seasons in Philadelphia, going 73-63 with a 4.40 ERA in 1,183 2/3 innings split between the rotation and bullpen. When healthy he's a qualify third or fourth starter and potential late-inning reliever, but injuries and off-field issues no doubt convinced the Phillies to move on.
