The Associated Press reports Oakland Athletics SP Brett Anderson (11-10) won his fourth straight start Thursday, Sept. 24, against the Texas Rangers. He gave up three runs (one earned) and six hits in 5 2/3 innings to improve to 8-3 in his last 16 starts. Anderson has struck out 142 hitters this season, giving him the most strikeouts by a rookie in team history. He did not walk a hitter for the fifth time this season.

Our View: Anderson improved to 4-0 in the month of September, and he is fnishing out his rookie campaign on a very high note. His ERA is at 4.12 for the season, and he looks to have a bright future in the Oakland rotation.

He walked one and struck out a career-high 10, improving to 10-10 on the season. Anderson needs three more strikeouts to break the Oakland rookie record of 141, set by Rick Langford in 1977.

Our View: Anderson is now 9-10 on the season, but his 4.37 ERA is pretty solid for the rookie. He looks like a guy who can contribute to a fantasy squad in the future, but he is just an average play right now.
