Bartolo Colon struggled Tuesday in his last rehab outing, but is scheduled for another one Sunday with Triple-A Pawtucket, according to the Boston Globe.He may only be able to last 75 pitches if recalled to the Red Sox, but manager Terry Francona noted that the bullpen wouldn't be compromised when rosters expand in September. He should remain held on rosters in larger AL-only leagues.

The Associated Press reports Boston Red Sox SP Bartolo Colon (back) threw four no-hit innings for Triple-A Pawtucket Thursday, Aug. 21. He walked two and struck out two. He topped out at 90 mph on the radar gun, consistently threw in the 88-89 range and allowed only one hard-hit ball. Colon will make another rehab start Tuesday, Aug. 26 and will increase his pitch count to five or six innings and 60-65 pitches.

Manager Ron Johnson said, "I thought his velocitys getting back up to where it was. Hes not there yet as compared with where he was when he was with us early in the year. But thats to be expected because he hasnt been out there that many times. He just looked crisp to me." He topped out at 90 mph on the radar gun, consistently threw in the 88-89 range.Colon will make another rehab start on Tuesday at Lehigh Valley and will increase his pitch count to five or six innings and 60-65 pitches.

The club has made clear that they will not rush the veteran hurler in his rehab, but instead will allow him to work through a typical Spring Training-style progression.
