Chapman impressed with Sox
Young Cuban hurler Aroldis Chapman was reportedly very impressed with his visit with the Red Sox on Wednesday, according to the Boston Globe. Chapman's agent acknowledged that while Chapman enjoyed himself, he still has at least 10 teams interested in meeting.
Our View: The Sox may have the inside track on Chapman for two very important reasons. First, they have the money. Second, they signed his former teammate, shortstop Jose Iglesias, to an $8.5 MM deal this summer. Look for the Red Sox to be right there at the end of this thing.

Mets not pursuing Chapman
MetsBlog.com is reporting that the team met with free agent pitcher Aroldis Chapman on Friday. It was not clear if the two sides discussed financial demands, but the Mets are not expected to pursue the young Cuban.
Our View: Chapman is reportedly looking for a deal in the $40-$60 million range, so that pretty much eliminates everyone except for the Red Sox and Yankees. The Cubs, Cardinals, and White Sox will all meet with Chapman next week, but it seems unlikely any of those teams will be able to afford the flame-throwing lefty.

There will undoubtedly be many more suitors than that though, as any team with a cushy payroll is likely to get involved to some degree. Expect the Dodgers, Angels, Mets and possibly even the Giants to reach out to the 21-year-old southpaw. There could be a vicious bidding war this winter.
