Torres injured himself as he rounded first base on a fly out to right field in during the second inning of the Giants' July 30 contest with the Phillies. He said that this injury wasn't as serious as the one which affected the same hamstring and forced him to the DL in late April.

Our View: Torres missed 26 games with the same injury earlier in the season. He does not believe the injury is quite as severe this time though, and anticipates coming off the DL when first eligible.

Our View: The Giants feel the injury is just a strain, but if it's serious enough to warrant an MRI then it must be at least somewhat serious. Torres missed significant time earlier this season with a similar injury, so this is nothing new. He pulled the hammy rounding the bases on Thursday.
