Blanco has a left calf strain that he apparently suffered in an Aug. 1 game vs. the Marlins in Florida. Hewasn't too worried about the injury. "It's just a little sore," Blanco said. "It's nothing to worry about." Gorzelanny was acquired along with John Grabow in a five-player deal with Pittsburgh on July 30. He was 3-1 with a 5.19 ERA in nine appearances for the Pirates this year.

Our View: Blanco has mostly been a guy coming off the bench for the Cubbies this season, but he is a nice utility player who provides a spark off the bench. The Cubs should be fine without him, but they will welcome him back when he is healthy.

Tom Gorzelanny has officially been activated by the Chicago Cubs and he will start Tuesday night's game against the Reds, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. To make room on the roster, the team placed infielder Andres Blanco on the 15-day DL with a strained calf.

Our View: Gorzelanny is expected to make a few starts with the time while Ted Lilly is out, but he doesn't look like a strong fantasy option at this point. Gorzelanny has spent most of the season in the minors, and it seems likely that he will he heading right back there before long.
