Mark Teahen is back at third base while covering for the injured Alex Gordon, according to the KC Star. Manager Trey Hillman said, "Its his old position, but its new to him this year. We will see how it goes. He worked on it a little bit in Chicago. He looked pretty natural over there. Id like to see what T can do at his old position."The last time he roamed third base was September 5, 2006. Teahen could see extended action at the hot corner as Gordon may be out for a couple of weeks. As a fantasy performer, Teahen could provide flexibility to use as a corner infielder in deeper AL-only leagues if needed.

Gordon is expected to be placed on the disabled list. The third baseman left Thursday's game after the fourth inning with a pull in his right leg from charging in to field a ground ball. "He's got a tear in the upper right side of his leg, the groin region," Royals manager Trey Hillman said. "It's actually a deep hip flexor muscle. We're just getting the results back." There's no word on exactly how long Gordon is expected to be out, but it's late enough in the season that the .254 hitter might not contribute much more.
