Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi, of FOXSports.com, report the Cincinnati Reds will not be trading OF Jay Bruce or 3B Scott Rolen this offseason, according to one source with knowledge of the team's thinking. 1B Joey Votto is the other player the team is unwilling to trade. All other players, including RP Francisco Cordero, 2B Brandon Phillips, SP Aaron Harang and SP Bronson Arroyo, are in play.

The Reds have hired Bryan Price as their next pitching coach. Dick Pole got the boot after watching over a staff that posted a 4.18 team ERA in 2009. Price, 47, has been a pitching coach in the majors for the past 10 seasons, most recently with the Diamondbacks. He resigned from that post after upper management fired friend and manager Bob Melvin.
