The Associated Press reports Colorado Rockies SP Aaron Cook allowed his first home run in his last five starts Friday, July 31, and has given up 15 home runs this year. He went 6 2/3 innings in the contest and picked up his fourth no-decision in his last six starts. Cook allowed seven hits and three runs while walking two and striking out four.

Brandon Phillips went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in tonight's 5-3 loss to Colorado at the Great American Ballpark. He hit two singles and a solo homer off Aaron Cook.
Our View: Phillips hit a homer in two of his last five games, and has five total hits over his last two. He closed out July on a high note.
