The Associated Press reports Colorado Rockies SP Aaron Cook allowed four runs on nine hits in seven innings Wednesday, July 30, to pick up his 14th win of the season. He struck out one batter and walked three batters in the game. He is now tied for the National League lead in victories.

Aaron Cook won his 14th game on Friday night as held the Pirates to four runs over seven innings. Cook wasn't dazzling but he won his third straight start.Cook has never won more than nine games before this season. His ERA (3.53) and WHIP (1.25) are spectacular for a pitcher who calls Coors Field home, even is he is deficient in strikeouts (4.15 K/9).
