The Rockies are rolling, and while they stay hot Cook seems like a solid start in all leagues. Beware of him reverting back to his early season form, but right now he is a solid play.

1. In his ESPN blog on Monday, Buster Olney detailed some of the reasons the Rockies have reversed course and have an 11-game winning streak. Olney focused heavily on Aaron Cook and how the righty went from having lost his signature sinker to doing video work that enabled Cook to rediscover the pitch. I point this out because Chien-Ming Wang, like Cook, depends so thoroughly on a sinker to get groundballs. You could argue that no two starters in the majors so thoroughly rely on sinkers and grounders more than Cook and Wang.

Cook periodically has games in which he looks this dominant -- he fired a complete-game four-hit shutout against the Braves on May 21 -- and that, more than anything else, makes him worth owning in fantasy. He's not a front line fantasy starter, due to that tricky home field and a lack of solid peripherals -- Cook has a 32/26 K/BB ratio in 70 innings, and a 1.40 WHIP -- but it's nice to be reminded what he's capable of doing in the right situation. In his next start, Cook will face the Brewers in Milwaukee on June 11.
