News: The Los Angeles Dodgers removed Eric Stults (sprained left thumb) from the 15-day DL and optioned him back to the minor leagues Wednesday. To make room on the roster for Manny Ramirez (suspension), they sent third catcher A.J. Ellis to the minors. Also, they designated outfielder Mitch Jones for assignment. According to Scout.com, the Dodgers have optioned third-string catcher A.J. Ellis to Triple-A.
Our View: After the series against Colorado ended, Ellis was shipped out. He will catch regularly in Triple-A and will likely receive a call-up in September when the rosters expand. He holds no fantasy value.
